A Record-Breaking Career Conference for April 2022
Whew! What an extremely busy but productive (and record-breaking) four days! The April 2022 Career Conference has concluded, and we are already beginning the coordination with our candidates and client companies for follow-up interviews. It seems like each time I write the post-Career Conference blog, we are re-writing the record books for Conference results. And, here we are once more with another milestone and a first at Cameron-Brooks. It was a highly successful event, and all of us at Cameron-Brooks want to give a very sincere and heartfelt thank you to all of the candidates and client companies who decided to partner with us as they launch new careers and add strong leadership talent to their organizations.
So what were the statistics?
We had 45 candidates, 35 distinct companies, and 50 different hiring groups as multiple companies had multiple divisions attend. Additionally, 28 Cameron-Brooks alumni returned to recruit and find top JMO talent for their organizations.
The candidates conducted over 560 interviews, with an average of 12.5 interviews per candidate! The pursuit rate for this Career Conference was 81.0%!! This is the first time in our company’s history (50+ years) where we have had a pursuit rate break the 80% mark!!! Record-breaking, indeed. The “pursuit rate” is defined as the number of interviews in which the candidates achieved success divided by the total number of their interviews. “Achieving success” in an interview at the Career Conference simply means the companies expressed interest in moving forward with the candidate.
So, we are off to a fantastic start in helping our candidates with their career transition and pivot from a successful military leader to a successful business leader. Since the pandemic started, we have seen the follow-up process be accelerated even more than before, with the average number of days from Career Conference to offer acceptance being just 12.2 working days! So, for the next two to three weeks, the candidates will be involved in the follow-up interview process based on mutual interest from the Conference.
Interested in exploring your options with Cameron-Brooks? Curious about how to make a successful transition? Check out our website, YouTube Channel and follow us on LinkedIn. Additionally, our latest podcast (Episode 146) discusses what transitioning from the NFL and the military have in common, and you can listen to that podcast here. We have a blog post with our top 10 podcasts of 2021, and you can listen to those here.
Stay tuned!! On May 4th, my colleague Pete Van Epps will conduct an April 2022 post-Career Conference webcast that will include several of the April Conference candidates. Our alumni will share their experiences, recommendations, and answer your questions. You can register for the webcast here.
